Round the Island Yacht Race 2012

What a race that was. Over 1900 yachts tackling the 70 + mile route in windy, fickle conditions and seas reported to be over 3 metres high. Plenty of dismasts and the VHF radio alive with Mayday and Pan Pan messages and incidents all day. The RNLI did a stirling job as always. Ian Badley covered the race in the Solent aboard the chartered launch out of Lymington.
